As the Government’s Disadvantage Subsidy is rolled out across the country The Alex Zone at Crewe Alexandra FC is offering schools a full day of out of school activities every ‘home fixture’ Saturday till the end of the football season. Children are picked up from their school by minibus and taken to the Crewe Alexandra FC Soccer in the Community Centre for two hours of coaching. After the football they are bused to the Alexandra Stadium for lunch, provided by Domino Pizza. Lunch is followed by a film show courtesy of our well established Film Club and finally every child and their parents are invited to stay and attend the match. For a cohort of 15 children the schools are paying £1000.There is no pressure on their staff to attend the sessions and the uptake has been overwhelming and may be something that other PfS Centres may wish to consider.

Centre managers and Associate Centre managers should all have received an email relating to the completion of this year’s club cards. The template will look exactly as in previous years and will be available on Monday 19 July.  Centre managers will be asked to complete the club card by Friday 23 July 2010. An access/completion/upload protocol will follow shortly.
